We are excited to announce that we are returning to Brazil in 2021! This year we will spend three weeks exploring new and familiar regions of the Amazon. We will also have clients join us on a two week expedition! Click here to learn more about the Group Expedition.
Belém & Altamira
The first week in Brazil will be spent preparing for the Group Expedition. We will fly directly to Altamira for the preperations and then return to Belém to meet our clients, who will be flying in from the United States on October 3rd and 4th.
Detailed information about the two weeks in Belém, Altamira, Rio Xingu, Volta Grande and Rio Iriri can be seen here. Don’t miss your chance to join us on the Group Expedition in 2022! Click here to contact us about how to join.
On October 16th our clients fly home to the United States and we head out on our own.
Alter do Chão
On October 17th we fly to Alter do Chão. We visited this pristine “Caribbean of Brazil” on our first trip to Brazil in 2018. We fell in love with the white sand beaches, killer sunsets, crystal clear sand bottom streams and incredible biodiversity. Perfect for snorkeling and underwater filming, this paradise is a fish enthusiast’s dream come true.

Manaus
After a few days in Alter do Chão we will fly to Manaus. Manaus draws us back year after year. There are a lifetime of adventures to embark upon from this region of the Amazon. We will spend time with our dear friend Don McConnel and his family. He is the producer of the informative documentary about the wild caught industry. Find out how to watch it and read more about it here: WILD CAUGHT: AQUARIUM FISH TRADE OF THE AMAZON.
In 2019 we spent several days collecting wild discus in Uatuma with one of our suppliers. This year we will spend time collecting discus with a new supplier, possibly in the Purus region. We will also visit a few new export facilities. There is the possibility of a day trip to Manacapuru, where the famous angelfish are collected! Fingers crossed!
Rio de Janiero
After 8 days in Manaus we will fly to Rio de Janiero where Jamie and I will take our own three day vacation before heading home to the States.
Make sure to follow us on Facebook, subscribe to our YouTube Channel and Instagram so you don’t miss anything. We always try to do a few live streams from Brazil, if service allows.
